Latest Nigerian Education News kano-nursery-school-resumption: Government to constitute a high powered committee to ensure compliance with Covid-19 guidelines.
The Kano State Government (KSG) has clarified that Nursery schools are included in the school resumption slated for Monday, October 12, 2020.
The Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of the State Ministry of Education, Aliyu Yusuf, made this known on Tuesday evening in a Press Release. According to Aliyu, the state Commissioner of Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru made this clarification during a meeting with education stakeholders in his office. Meanwhile, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru appealed to the stakeholders to be up and doing in ensuring environmental safeguards before, during and after resumption. He also hinted that the state government is committed to constituting a high powered Committee that would go round the re-opened schools for maximum compliance of covid-19 guidelines.

The recent approval by the Kano state government for the re-opening of both public and private schools in the state is to include Nursery schools.
This was disclosed by the state commissioner of Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru during a meeting with education stakeholders in his office.
He said that the Nursery pupils like their counterparts in the primary schools are to resume with their normal classes but with the observation of the covid-19 protocols
On the meeting, the commisioner said that the stakeholders were invited with a view to solicit for their usual cooperations in assisting the government to ensure the monitoring and compliance with the laid down guidelines for the re-opening of the schools in the state.
Malam Sanusi Kiru restated that Kano state government has recorded tremendous achievements in the provision of all the required PPE’s and environmental safeguards at both public, voluntary and private schools.
While appealing to the stakeholders to be up and doing, he re-affirmed the commitments of the state government to constitute a high powered Committee that would go round the re-oppened schools for maximum compliance of covid-19 guidelines.
